Since 2005, CII has been organizing the annual CII-EXIM Bank Conclave on India Africa Project Partnership with support of Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India over the last 13 years. The conclave has seen the participation of eminent dignitaries from across Africa and India, who have actively built bridges to strengthen the partnership between our two regions. With the multi-faceted involvement of Heads of State, Ministers, Business Leaders, Financial institutions and Investment agencies, the conclave has proven to be a one stop shop that caters to the interests of both business and political stakeholders, alike.
Being India’s largest Africa-focused business events, the conclave provides a platform for identifying several opportunities for India to join hands with Africa, to meet its development needs. Given the above-mentioned factors, it is now time to give focus to the WANA Region. It will be the right occasion to address the reasons for the downturn in trade and investment and find possible solutions. Besides, the conclave will give industry a chance to find areas for diversification and therefore greater collaboration given the proliferation of global value chains and increased dependence on international production networks. The Conclave will play a pivotal role in the formation of new ideas and strategies, for both Indian and WANA businesses and Governments to take the South-South cooperation agenda forward.
